Welcome to Vifriends, the Virtual relationships that exist only on the photographs that lonely Chinese people are generating to show how they imagine their perfect relationship to be. Using ViFriends, young single Chinese men and Chinese women take snaps in situations where they can imagine they would like to be romantically linked with their other half. They then simply add their virtual boyfriend to the pictures later on, creating images that they share on social network sites and with pals. The craze started in southeast Chinas Fujian province when two friends, Hsin Hsu and his online female friend Cai Lu, both single, came up with the idea of sending images of their dream partner in romantic situations. Cai said: "It was somehow really comforting to have these images of a strongman by my side and to share some special moments together even if it was only virtually. I showed them with friends and we chat about them for ages and it just kind of took off from there." Although there has been criticism of the ViFriends idea, users say sending snaps with ViFriends is much healthier than sending intimate photographs or any of the other unhealthy practices that people use on the Internet. And in some way it's really comforting to have a partner even if it's only one in a virtual photograph illustrating how the dream relationship should really be. Cai said: "We are fans of cartoons and the photos are real, we just pose as if we are there with a lover and then use the computer to draw the lover into the photos. "We eat, walk, shop, and do everything with our imagined lovers, it's almost as good as the real thing and brings a lot of pleasure."

Лошиот физички изглед и недостатокот на самодоверба се меѓу главните причини зошто мажите се сами, покажува студијата на Манеалос Апостолоу, професор на Универзитетот во Никозија, кој истражувал зошто мажите се сами.

Професорот го поставил прашањето „Зошто сте сами?” на Reddit и добил преку 20.000 одговори. Потоа, истражувачите анализирале 13.429 одговори, пред да ги поделат во 43 категории.

Најчести причини кои мажите ги наведуваат зошто се сами се лошиот физички изглед, а потоа недостатокот на самодоверба и недоволната заинтересираност за љубовна врска.

Меѓу најчестите одговори се и неумешноста за флертување, но и срамежливоста на мажите. Тоа што некои мажи не знаат како да им пристапат на жените, може да биде и природно, а истражувачите сметаат дека зад тоа се кријат еволуциски причини.

Со векови наназад, браковите биле договарани, а имале малку избор помеѓу жените, но факт е дека изгледот не бил важен и дека не морале да „играат игра” за да привлечат некого од спротивниот пол.

Непривлечните мажи и оние кои не се снаоѓале баш добро во друштво, сепак имале партнерки бидејќи сè било договарано. Во денешно време, ова повеќе не е случај во повеќето култури.
